Tunable Optical Filters

100 and 50 GHz tunable filters feature a low insertion loss and a high adjacent channel isolation to minimize the attenuation of the signal transmitted and prevent multi-channel crosstalk respectively. The tunable filter modules are controlled by a digital interface to simplify operational control and system integration.

Opto-mechanical Switches

Opto-mechanical switches are small and highly reliable. They are based on a moving prism mechanism. They are available configured as 1x1, 1x2 or 2x2 for add/drop applications. They are also often used in optical network protection switching applications due to their latching capabilities.

Opto-Mechanical Switch Modules

Opto-mechanical switch modules include one or multiple opto-mechanical switches in one assembly. They provide a convenient digital interface to actuate the optical switches to the desired state. Modules are available configured as 1x2, 2x2, dual 2x2, dual 2x4, 1x4 and 1x8 optical switches.

MEMS Optical Switches

Due to their high reliability, MEMS optical switches are ideal for applications that require continual switching. MEMS switches are often combined with embedded monitoring modules such as optical channel monitors or optical time domain reflectometers to continuously switch around the network points being monitored.

Multicast Switches

Multicast switches help route optical channels between the wavelength selective switches and add/drop ports in reconfigurable optical networks. Multicast switches have a unique broadcast and select architecture that enable ROADMs to be “contentionless”. Multicast switches can be custom designed from 2 to 16 channel ports and from 2 to 16 degree ports. Each multicast switch is manufactured using qualified building blocks such as MEMS optical switches, PLC splitters and photodiodes for channel-port monitoring. Multicast switches integrated with EDFA-arrays are also available.
