Gain-Block EDFA

A wide variety of compact erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) for high-bitrate transponder applications are available in the form of uncontrolled gain blocks. These EDFAs incorporate industry-leading high-efficiency uncooled 980 nm pump laser technology combined with advanced micro-optic passive hybrid-function components. A widely tunable optical filter may be integrated into the module as an option to filter out amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise around the transmission wavelength so as to increase transmission reach. These enabling photonic components are designed and manufactured in house.

These EDFAs incorporate industry-leading high-efficiency dual-chip cooled and uncooled 980 nm pump laser technology combined with advanced micro-optic passive arrayed and hybrid-function componentry. These enabling photonic components are designed and manufactured in house.
